So I finally started playing Rune Factory 3
I tried a few times a while back, but that was when my DS was breaking down and the shoulder buttons wouldn’t work and the game froze on me a few times and I set it down again. Now that I have a shiny 3DS to play it on, though, bring it on!
God I love virtual farming. I’m such a sucker for these kinds of games. So far my favorite bachelorette is Sofia, the girl who talks in opposites and whose preferred items are apparently scrap metal and old cans dredged out of the lake. I AM VERY FOND OF HER, OKAY.
I also like Daria, the artist (mostly for her fabulous rainbow bridge), and Raven, The Angsty One. And Marian and Collette are very cute together. In a just world there would be dub-con medical kink fic out there somewhere.

Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town - True Love Edition

Falling in love is one of the most memorable moments in any Harvest Moon game. Unfortunately for some, it always seemed like you had to choose between who you want to be and who you want to love. I think some of you out there have been waiting for a game like this for a very long time now.
Friends of Mineral Town is arguably one of the best in the Harvest Moon series. With a bit of ingenuity (and some help from the great people at romhacking.net), I was able to edit in Clair (girl) over top of Pete (boy). There are a few graphical peculiarities, but it all seems to work okay.
Here’s some things to note about this game.
- To play this game, you’ll need a GBA emulator (Such as VisualBoyAdvance). I recommend turning on Motion Blur (Options>Video>Render API>Motion Blur) for clearer text.
- This is only a graphical edit. No script changes have been made. As soon as I figure out how scripting works, I’ll get right onto changing those awkward gender-confused dialogs. Feel free to submit scripts that need changing (screenshot/savestate encouraged).
- I want to work on a Boy version of More Friends of Mineral Town, but that will take considerably more work since there are more animations in that version. I swear, Gray will be mine!
- I want to edit the title screen with a proper logo and version info, but I’m still working through how to actually do that…
- Feel free to submit any bug reports. Save States/Screenshots are encouraged.

Okay, so in this last couple of days I have transformed from “pretty chill, easily ignoring problems” to “PROBLEMS INESCAPABLY LOOMING, GIANT BALL OF STRESS,” but I have a meeting with the head of the department tomorrow which will either unwind the stress ball or detonate it and either way at least it won’t be there anymore.
ANYWAY, my options right now are a) curl up into a little ball and give myself ulcers worrying about something I can’t do much about at this particular moment, b) directly communicate with people when I don’t feel like I have the emotional resources for it, or c) ramble aggressively about magical girls.
GUESS WHICH OPTION I PICKED.

I love the way from this point on Wester continues to react with the frustrated confusion to Setsuna’s defection. When he has to fight her he’s always like “Quit it, Eas!” and just sounds like a brother whining at his little sister for acting out for a reason he just cannot understand. He just wants her to come home so they can be a family again! Even though he shouldn’t have a concept of family, but he’s not a cerebral dude, he just goes with his gut and his gut sees them as a family.

atlus
is persona the only atlus company games you’ve played? if not what have you played? what do you think of the games from atlus as a whole?
Let’s see, most of the games I’ve played that were actually developed by Atlus fall under the SMT umbrella. Other than Persona 3 and 4, I’ve played Devil Survivor 1 and 2, about half of Nocturne before getting tired of grinding, more than half of the SNES Shin Megami Tensei before getting sidetracked, and watched my brother play Devil Summoner. I own Strange Journey but I haven’t gotten around to giving it much of a shot yet. I’ve also played Catherine.
As far as those games go, I think the mechanics are always interesting but I tend to prefer the games with more story and less dungeon to the ones with the opposite ratio, as you can see reflected in which ones I actually managed to finish! I haven’t played the older Persona games or the Digital Devil Saga games, but I’d like to!
In terms of stuff Atlus published but didn’t actually develop, I liked Odin Sphere a lot and sank waaaaaay too many hours into Ogre Battle 64 as a kid.

I have totally played both P3 and P4 and I love them! And I love Naoto! I was just surprised Yamino wasn’t at least peripherally aware of the character because of the wank.
